Course Description

Program Structure Lessons focus on approximately 50% persuasive writing and 50% creative writing, with emphasis on building confidence, clarity, and control in written expression. Learning Objectives Lessons are customised to support students in developing strong foundational writing skills. Students are coached to work with their individual strengths and weaknesses in thinking and expression, while learning to meet standard academic writing expectations. Particular attention is given to idea development, sentence control, and structured response writing. Content Approach Writing stimuli are introduced progressively. Students initially respond to accessible, mainstream topics before advancing to more nuanced prompts that encourage deeper critical and creative thinking. Tasks are adjusted to suit individual readiness and skill development. Outcomes By refining both critical and creative thinking, students are expected to demonstrate increased confidence and control in persuasive and creative writing, producing more structured and purposeful responses.
