My daughter has always loved reading, but writing was a real challenge for her.
Despite being an avid reader, she struggled to express her ideas clearly on paper. After just one term in Christal’s writing class,
the improvement has been remarkable. Christal has a wonderful ability to explain concepts in a clear, structured, and engaging way.
My daughter not only developed stronger writing skills, but also gained confidence in organising her thoughts and expressing them effectively. The results speak for themselves — she was recently offered an academic scholarship after sitting the ACER exam,
which included two writing tasks. We truly believe Christal’s guidance played a significant role in this achievement.
Most importantly, my daughter genuinely looks forward to each class and feels she is learning so much every week.

English for my son has always been a challenge. With Christal’s support, he has gained confidence and come to understand how to prepare for his exams and structure his essays effectively. I was, and still am, a very stubborn student. I enjoy writing about specific subjects and characters, exploring particular theories, and experimenting with unique (and often questionable) structures in my texts. It worked at first, but senior school slowly demanded that I follow more conventional structures and ideas. I thought I had to choose between my ideas and my marks. However, when I started with Christal, I realised I could have both. I was encouraged to continually expand upon and pursue my ideas in the way I wanted, whilst also being provided with the structural guidance needed to help markers understand my often abstract concepts. She improved far more than just my English; she fundamentally shaped the way I communicate myself through writing.

It has been quite the journey in my school life, the hardships that came with my subjects, and the learning I had to endure in order to be where I am today. English has been a subject with no boundaries, exploring possibilities with the only real limit being how much I was willing to challenge myself. For two years, I felt stuck, working hard but without any real strategy or understanding of what high-level responses actually required. The shift didn't happen overnight, but through targeted feedback, structured techniques, and exposure to exemplar responses, I started to see exactly where I was losing marks and, more importantly, how to fix it. I learned to analyse texts with precision rather than just summarising them, and to craft arguments that were sophisticated rather than simplistic. By Year 10, I had not only closed the gap, but I had reached the top of my grade.

Thank you very much for teaching and guiding our son.
He used to dislike reading and had difficulty concentrating, but after receiving guidance from Teacher Christal, his attitude towards learning improved greatly and his English skills also improved significantly.

For four years, I’ve seen Christal give everything to CCAM.
She’s devoted many weekends to marking homework, preparing lessons, and thinking about how best to teach her students.
An 'admiral' trait, among many, is Christal’s ability to dedicate time to all students; observing and recognising a student’s potential, and then meticulously brainstorming how to realise their progress in ways that feel natural and engaging.
The emphasis on learning, communication, and expression are life-long lessons that would benefit anyone. It has been an honour to witness Christal continue to grow her strong community, as well as her devotion to selecting staff and dedicating extensive time to training them.

I had always found English, particularly writing strong essays, quite challenging, and I found myself unable to achieve consistent marks. However, through Christal’s constant feedback and support over the past couple of years, I was able to refine my essay and creative writing skills and become more aware of my areas to work on. Our family has been incredibly impressed with the Capital Coaching and Mentoring program that my son enrolled in. My son joined the program in Year 5, and we can see the significant improvement in his English writing, from vocabulary and grammar to writing structure.
It's wonderful to see him become more confident in English writing. We have been with Capital Coaching for many years now, and my son is now in Year 8.
We are very grateful for the weekly writing prompts, which are diverse and help build a solid foundation for his high school studies. The teacher is very experienced and is able to explain real exam techniques well.
