My daughter has always loved reading, but writing was a real challenge for her. Despite being an avid reader, she struggled to express her ideas clearly on paper. After just one term in Christal’s writing class, the improvement has been remarkable. Christal has a wonderful ability to explain concepts in a clear, structured, and engaging way. My daughter not only developed stronger writing skills, but also gained confidence in organising her thoughts and expressing them effectively. The results speak for themselves — she was recently offered an academic scholarship after sitting the ACER exam, which included two writing tasks. We truly believe Christal’s guidance played a significant role in this achievement. Most importantly, my daughter genuinely looks forward to each class and feels she is learning so much every week. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact this class has had on her.

I was, and still am, a very stubborn student. I enjoy writing about specific subjects and characters, exploring particular theories, and experimenting with unique (and often questionable) structures in my texts. It worked at first, but senior school slowly demanded that I follow more conventional structures and ideas. I thought I had to choose between my ideas and my marks. However, when I started with Christal, I realised I could have both. I was encouraged to continually expand upon and pursue my ideas in the way I wanted, whilst also being provided with the structural guidance needed to help markers understand my often abstract concepts. She improved far more than just my English; she fundamentally shaped the way I communicate myself through writing.

I found essay writing challenging, as I lacked a strong foundation upon which I could build my ideas. Through structured teaching and practice, I was able to reinforce my writing, creating a platform to more confidently and clearly explore my creativity and achieve higher academic levels.
